Our “Journey Home” is nearing completion and the landscaping and outdoor spaces are continuing to wow us each day. The pool received its final coat and is being filled with water as we speak. The potting shed, which is every gardeners dream, is complete with custom countertops, shelving, and even a drive through covered passage way. A perfect word to describe our Journey Home is, wow! The Cabana is near completion with the installation of the custom cabinets. The Cabana kitchen includes pecky cypress custom cabinets with concealed European hinges, Kamado Joe grill, refrigerator, ice machine, gas grill, and “St. Cecilia” granite countertops.
The landscaping is starting to really take shape. Gorgeous trees and shrubs are starting to adorn the home and backyard pool/cabana area. The custom travertine tile on the pool deck, cabana, and back porch add a natural organic feel to landscaping. Light fixtures are being hung, custom closet shelving is being installed, and the wood floors are being stained. The interior of our Journey Home simply looks amazing and we are thrilled with the progress. The incredible outdoor pool/cabana area has made some remarkable progress. The tile for the pool has been installed and the rock waterslide is under construction. The pool deck and the floor of the cabana will be large flagstone custom cut specifically for this home. The warm feel of the flagstone will ad the perfect touch to this truly beautiful outdoor space. The cabana will include a full kitchen with an incredible grilling area. You name it, the cabana will have it!
While the exterior is getting a ton of attention, the interior of the home is getting many exciting touches. The custom copper vent hood over the stove has been installed and the custom backsplash in the kitchen is almost complete. The vent will be a great focal point in this gourmet kitchen. Subcontractors are working tirelessly on our Journey Home! Construction on the pool has begun and the interior is receiving some really amazing decorative treatments.
The main wall in the Master Bedroom consists of galvanized metal with a patina finish. The metal element on the wall will go perfectly with the built-in fireplace. Granite has arrived! The kitchen, bathrooms, and laundry room all have a different color of granite. Granite countertops are a durable and timeless product that the homeowners did not think twice about installing in their custom home. Not even the garage was overlooked when it comes to work/counter space. A custom work station with ample room has been installed and will be a great asset to the spacious garage. The pool construction has started and the landscape project is underway! This is really an exciting element to our Journey Home and the progress on the pool, cabana, and potting shed is truly amazing to watch. Talk about “making and entrance!” The footings have been poured, block has been installed, and brick along with stone has been applied. This courtyard entrance is a unique first impression to our “Journey Home” and is sure to impress. On the interior of the custom home, unique and durable ceramic tile is being installed on a brick joint, diagonal throughout the main living areas of the home. This style of tile application will give the home the warm and rustic feel the homeowners and interior designer have envisioned.
The tile in all the bathrooms is almost complete, installation of re-claimed wood is almost finished, and the Cabana looks amazing! So much progress and hard work is going on at our “Journey Home.” The interior of the home has all of its major finishes being installed and we can really get a good look at the style. The front and back porch cedar is getting a natural transparent stain that will enhance the natural beauty of the wood. The stone and the cedar on the exterior are timeless! It is exciting to capture this journey step by step and watch this dream come true!
The beautiful re-claimed barn wood being used in our Journey Home has been hand selected by our Interior Designer and homeowners. Foster Wood Products, located in Shiloh Georgia, has a wonderful selection of re-claimed barn wood to choose from and they absolutely had the right selection for this home. As the wood goes on the ceiling in the main living room and study, it truly fits right in with the rustic, elegant feel of our Journey Home. How remarkable is this wood going to look with all the stone elements and custom cabinetry throughout this custom home.
The gorgeous custom cabinetry and tile in our “Journey Home” looks incredible! This home is really starting to come alive with textures and colors. Van Nostrand Cabinets has done an outstanding job of crafting the gorgeous custom cabinetry for this home. The downstairs Jack & Jill bath has “Canon Green” custom cabinetry that perfectly matches the tile on the floors and wall in the tub area. The upstairs guest bath has calming white dove cabinets with a grey glaze. The Powder Room on the main level has custom cut Travertino tile with Muse accent tile. The showstopper is definitely the Master Bath cabinetry and tile. The cabinets are a stunning silver glaze. The floors compliment them perfectly with 24”x24” ceramic Polished Statuario (identical to carrara marble, but twice as durable). This is just a hint of what is to come with the tile and cabinets! Check back soon to see the exciting progress of our “Journey home!”
Sheetrock has been installed, walls have been prepped for paint, and the primer has been painted on the walls. Installation of the interior trim package is going on as we speak. Most of the home will have crown molding, some of which will be installed later than usual due to the faux finish that will go on the ceiling. All interior doors are beautiful, solid wood knotty alder.
The foyer has a great surprise as you enter the home; stone is on the interior as well! A large barrel stone arch leads you in to the main living area of the home. Its details like this that make our “Journey Home” truly stand out. Sheetrock was delivered one day, installed the next, and a day or two later they are already mudding and sanding the sheetrock! It really is amazing how meticulous and fast our sheetrock subcontractors Lathem Drywall have been. The walls look amazing and soon the interior trim and doors will be installed. The same beautiful “Old World” stone that is on the exterior is going to adorn the main interior wall between the foyer and main living room. Exterior materials are tastefully brought inside the home to add an element of warmth and comfort. The progress on our “Journey Home” is truly remarkable!
